Where are Floyd Rugs made?

We have rug pads available for purchase here.We highly recommend using The Floyd Rug Pad on hard floors (wood, tile, concrete) to keep the rug in place. The Rug is made of New Zealand wool and Indian cotton, which are both durable, yet soft materials. Naturally, these will not provide as much friction as rugs made of jute or other rough materials. By holding it in place, you will also reduce friction between The Rug and floor, prolonging the life of The Rug, so bonus points.

Should I use a rug pad with The Rug?

Be sure to clean spills immediately by blotting with a clean, white dry sponge or cloth. We highly recommend using a rug pad (see ours here!) on all surfaces to prevent slipping, add cushion, and improve durability. Please know that the color of The Rug may transfer and should not be placed directly over any existing carpet. Professional cleaning is recommended for tougher spills or stains. For vacuuming, use a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar or one where you can set the bar to the highest pile setting. If your vacuum has variable power settings, set it on low. Vacuum the full length of The Rug, turn and repeat to the next area, rather than the age-old back and forth motion. The Rug is NOT machine washable.

Can The Rug be placed Outdoors?

The Rug will be happiest away from direct sunlight (filtered is ok) to avoid any fading.Since the longevity of rugs is highly dependent on foot traffic, the lifespan of your Floyd Rug will be longer in a low-traffic area and shorter in a high-traffic area. To keep wear and fading as even as possible, rotate your Floyd Rug seasonally.And remember! Wool rugs of any kind should only be used indoors.Check out our recommended&#xA0;Rug Size Guide.

What’s the ideal spot for The Rug?

I have a loose thread on my Rug, what do I do?

Don&#x2019;t worry! It&#x2019;s perfectly normal for handmade rugs to get a loose bit now and then and it is easily remedied. Just take a chopstick (you know you have them, or similar pointy blunt object) and push and tuck the loose yarn back into the weave. Voila!

If you&#x2019;ve purchased the 5&#x201D;x7.5&#x201D; Rug, your Floyd Rug pad will need to be cut down to size. You can easily cut the rug pad before placing it. A simple pair of household scissors should cut just fine.
